Social insurance
The employee pays 11% and the company 18.75% of the insured wage, which in 2026 is held between EGP 2,700 and 16,700 a month. So a salary of 30,000 is insured on 16,700 only.
Payroll tax
Take the employee's insurance off the salary, then a personal exemption of EGP 20,000 a year. What is left goes through the brackets, and the result is divided by 12.

How much salary is tax-free?
The personal exemption is EGP 20,000 a year, and the first 40,000 after it is taxed at zero: the first 60,000 a year after insurance carries no tax.
What happens at high incomes?
Once taxable income passes EGP 600,000 a year, the lower brackets are withdrawn step by step, and the calculator applies this.
